Kids are back in school. Leaves are starting to change color. Fall has finally arrived. For most people, fall is a welcome change from the blazing summer heat. It also means outdoor fun like football games, campfires, nature walks and visits to the local pumpkin farm. And don’t forget about raking all those beautiful leaves!

Why do leaves change colors daddy? That was the question I received from my son over the weekend. Since I didn’t have the answer readily on hand, I jumped on the Internet to see what I could find. Not surprisingly, there was plenty of information on the subject.
Here are a few resources to tap if the question ever comes up in your household:
Another great year at the Walk & Run for Wishes on the Milwaukee Summerfest grounds this weekend! Bugsy met a ton of great kids, cheered on thousands of walkers & runners, and even participated in the Kid’s Dash races again one of the Brewer’s Sausages! Check out some of the highlights!
Here at Coleman Repellents, we consider ourselves to be “experts” when it comes to family camping. We have a lot of experience when it comes to packing the kids in the car and heading to the local campground. Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about what to do and especially what NOT to do when camping with the little ones.
Here’s a list of our top 13:
Sounds obvious, but pick a kid-friendly campsite. Look for places that have a playground, pool, beach and other fun activities for kids.
Kids get bored quickly and easily…make sure you have plenty of activities planned throughout the day (e.g. nature walk, bike ride, etc.).
If you’re camping with small children, stay close to home in case you get hit with bad weather or sleepless children. You can bail out if things get rough.
Talk to your kids about campsite hazards like lakes, campfires, woods, etc. Establish boundaries and rules.
Don’t sleep on the hard ground. Invest in a sleeping pad or inflatable mattress. Sleep is priority number one!
Bring a fan to circulate air in the tent. It will also create “white noise” to drown out campground noise.
Put a tarp underneath your tent for an extra layer of defense from moisture.
Bring flashlights and glow sticks for nighttime safety and fun!
